2026 Taiwan Foxconn Ladies Golf Tournament Returns to JLPGA with Record US$2 Million Purse

18 January, 2026

The 2026 Taiwan Foxconn Ladies Golf Tournament marks a significant milestone in Asian women's golf, returning with refreshed branding, a record-breaking US$2 million purse, and official status on the Japan Ladies Professional Golfers' Association (JLPGA) Tour.

Announced on January 14, 2026, by the LPGA of Taiwan (TLPGA) and JLPGA, this event brings one of Asia's most lucrative women's professional tournaments to Taiwan for the first time in nearly 48 years. It features an elite international field competing for substantial prize money and valuable ranking points.

The tournament, previously known as the Foxconn TLPGA Players Championship in 2024 and 2025, retains title sponsor Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) — the world's largest electronics manufacturer — while welcoming SoftBank Corp. as a special sponsor for the first time.

Taiwan's golf legend Ai-yu Tu, who dominated the JLPGA with 71 victories, seven money titles, over 110 career wins overall, and induction into the Japanese Golf Hall of Fame, serves as special advisor. The JLPGA, which has produced stars like Hisako Higuchi and Ai Miyazato, was the stage for many of Tu's greatest achievements.

TLPGA Chairwoman Huang Pi-hsun stated: "Ms Tu’s glorious achievements on the JLPGA Tour have been a source of pride for Taiwan. I am grateful for Foxconn’s support, which has allowed this dream tour to return to Taiwan after 48 years, giving young players a stage to challenge the world."

JLPGA Vice President Takako Matsuo added: "Over the past two years, we have witnessed TLPGA and Foxconn successfully taking the game to an elite playing level. As one of Asia’s flagship tournaments this year, we very much look forward to bringing Japanese players to Taiwan in March for high-level competition."

The US$2 million purse ranks as the second-highest on the 2026 JLPGA Tour and sets a new benchmark for the Foxconn-sponsored series since its inception. Established as a players' championship, the event emphasizes high-level competition, sportsmanship, and career-boosting opportunities.

The tournament is scheduled for March 12-15, 2026, at the prestigious Orient Golf & Country Club in Taoyuan, Taiwan.
