
The Emirates Golf Federation (EGF) has appointed General Abdullah Al Hashmi as its new President, succeeding His Excellency Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al-Qasimi. General Al Hashmi previously held the position of Vice President within the EGF.
In addition to his new role, General Al Hashmi serves as Vice President of the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation and represents the Arab Golf Federation in the Asia-Pacific region. His involvement in these international positions enhances the United Arab Emirates' influence in the global golf community and demonstrates his dedication to promoting the sport both regionally and internationally.
Founded in 1995, the EGF is the governing body for golf in the UAE. It operates under the UAE Ministry of Sports and maintains affiliations with several prominent organizations, including The R&A, the International Golf Federation, USGA, the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation, the GCC Golf Committee, and the Arab Golf Federation.
