The United Arab Emirates cemented its reputation as a global golfing powerhouse, scooping up a host of prestigious accolades at the 12th annual World Golf Awards ceremony held in Madeira. The results underscore the nation's successful transformation of golf from a mere pastime into a central pillar of its sports, tourism, and lifestyle identity.

The World Golf Awards, which are considered the benchmark for excellence in the global golf tourism industry, drew a record number of votes this year from professionals, operators, and golf travellers worldwide.

Dubai was named the Middle East's Best Golf Destination, reflecting its strong collection of world-class courses, accessibility, and robust tournament calendar anchored by the DP World Tour.

Leading the course winners was Trump International Golf Club Dubai, which claimed the coveted title of Middle East’s Best Golf Course, praised for its challenging design and immaculate condition.

The Managing Director of the World Golf Awards, Chris Frost, commented that the winners "reflect the strength and innovation within the sport," noting the record number of votes received was "a wonderful endorsement of the growing appeal of golf tourism."

The UAE's success highlights a holistic approach, recognising not only championship courses but also sustainability and hospitality. Notably, six-time major champion Sir Nick Faldo was also recognised, receiving the Golf Designer of the Year award for his expanding international portfolio.
