Pourveer Takes Helm as General Manager of Pineapple Valley Golf Club in Thailand

28 November, 2025

Pineapple Valley Golf Club announced the appointment of Romain Pourveer as its new General Manager. Pourveer, a respected figure in international luxury golf and hospitality management, assumed the leadership role in October 2025, tasked with crafting one of Thailand’s most remarkable golf and lifestyle experiences.

Pourveer’s mission is clear: to elevate every touchpoint at Pineapple Valley—from operations and course quality to gastronomy and hospitality—to meet true international 5-star standards. He leads a significant operation, overseeing more than 110 employees and the management of over 200 caddies, who are critical to the on-course guest journey, while also directing two integrated restaurants to create a seamless premium lifestyle offering.

"I am excited to lead Pineapple Valley, a truly iconic destination," said Pourveer, who is a Member of the Association des Directeurs de Golf de France. "My ambition is to make this club one of Asia’s most admired golf and hospitality destinations. With a proactive mindset and relentless attention to detail, we will ensure every guest, member, and team member feels proud to belong."

A Track Record of International Excellence

Pourveer’s appointment follows a robust career defined by success in high-stakes, international environments:

  • Luxury Launch in Morocco (2018–2021): Pourveer previously served as General Manager for IMG Golf Course Services, recruited to lead the pre-opening and launch of the very first Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course in North Africa in Ifrane, Morocco. This tenure involved hosting the prestigious Throne Cup and official inauguration by His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid. The project quickly became a flagship, being awarded Best Golf Hotel in Morocco one year after opening, recognizing its rapid success and premium positioning.
  • European Leadership (2021–2024): Prior to his move to Asia, Pourveer managed Golf des Yvelines in the historic Paris region, following a significant role as Deputy Managing Director at the prestigious 27-hole Golf & Country Club de Maison Blanche near Geneva, Switzerland (2021–2022). At Maison Blanche, he was instrumental in shaping the brand's future, focusing on service excellence, membership growth, and recruiting key talent to elevate course quality to be the benchmark in the Greater Geneva region.
  • Foundational Successes (2012–2018): His early career established a strong foundation in high-volume, premium operations. This includes three years as Director of Golf at the Shangri-La Group's luxury resort in Hambantota, Sri Lanka (2015–2018), where he exceeded sales targets by double digits across green fees and Pro Shop sales and successfully organized major events like the HSBC Premier South East Asian Final. Before that, his time as Deputy Managing Director at the Nicklaus Design Samanah Golf Club in Marrakech (2012–2015) saw annual green fees dramatically increase from 5,000 to 23,000, achieving a remarkable 140% growth in golf membership sales.

At Pineapple Valley, Pourveer's responsibilities cover the full spectrum of club operations, including strategic leadership, agronomy, course development projects, F&B management across two restaurants, financial performance, and forming key B2B and sponsorship partnerships. This move solidifies Pineapple Valley Golf Club's commitment to achieving world-class status under proven international leadership.
