Vinpearl Joint Stock Company has officially commenced construction of the Bai Tre Golf Course, a super-luxury 6-star links-style facility on Hon Tre Island in Nha Trang Bay. This development marks a significant milestone in Vietnam's premium golf sector, introducing the country's first "Top Cliff" course and positioning Vinpearl Golf to compete among the world's elite layouts.
Designed by renowned international architect Kyle Phillips — whose portfolio includes globally ranked courses such as Kingsbarns (Scotland, Top 43), South Cape Owners Club (Korea, Top 63), Yas Links (Abu Dhabi, UAE, Top 100), and California Golf Club of San Francisco (USA, Top 36) — the project spans over 100 hectares and features a unique 19-hole configuration. This includes an innovative 19th hole to extend play, foster social interaction, and enhance connectivity across the layout.
The course capitalizes on an exceptionally rare coastal topography, stretching from Bai Tre Beach to Dam Bay in one of the island's most secluded and visually dramatic areas. Nine holes are positioned as a pioneering "Top Cliff" design, perched on elevated slopes directly bordering the sea. These holes offer unobstructed panoramic views of Nha Trang Bay, with play heavily influenced by sea breezes, altitude changes, and open ocean exposure — elements that add strategic depth, risk-reward dynamics, and emotional intensity characteristic of classic links golf.
The layout adheres closely to the natural terrain, with hole alignments following existing elevation variations and prevailing wind directions. Minimal landscape intervention preserves the original topography, while native vegetation and coastal features are integrated to evoke the authentic spirit of renowned links courses worldwide. The philosophy emphasizes sustainability through respect for the site's natural contours and ecosystems.
A luxurious, privacy-focused clubhouse will complement the course, tailored to high-end golfers with sophisticated amenities and personalized service.
As a 6-star public-access facility, Bai Tre targets discerning domestic players, international visitors seeking elite experiences, and residents of nearby Vinhomes developments in Nha Trang. It forms a key component of the broader Vinpearl Nha Trang seaside tourism, resort, and entertainment ecosystem, enhancing the destination's appeal for multi-experience luxury travel.
Ms. Ngo Thi Huong, General Director of Vinpearl Joint Stock Company, stated: “With Bai Tre Golf Course, Vinpearl is not only developing another luxury golf product, but is also gradually establishing a new standard for golf experiences in Vietnam. We choose to develop projects based on the advantages of rare natural landscapes and terrain, combined with international standard design thinking, to create truly unique and valuable experiences in the long term. Through iconic projects like Bai Tre, Vinpearl aims to contribute to making Vietnam an attractive golf destination on the world map, while affirming Vinpearl Golf's position as a leading brand in the region and internationally.”
While a specific opening date has not been announced, the project represents a strategic push to elevate Vietnam's profile in global golf tourism. Upon completion, Bai Tre is anticipated to rank among the world's most prestigious courses, further solidifying Vinpearl's growing portfolio — which already includes established award-winning properties such as Vinpearl Golf Phu Quoc — and driving demand in the premium Asia-Pacific golf market.
