TAI PO, HONG KONG SAR – The development of Plover Cove Golf Club has entered a critical new phase this week with the commencement of clubhouse construction, marking a significant milestone for the HK$4.5 billion project in the first quarter of 2026.
Located along Ting Kok Road in Tai Po, the project is transforming 53 hectares of restored landfill into a premier golfing destination. The newly started clubhouse, spanning over 200,000 square feet, is a central pillar of the development as it progresses toward a scheduled 2027 opening.
The clubhouse is designed to reflect a "distinctive contemporary Hong Kong architectural identity," rising across four floors and a rooftop. The layout is engineered to balance high-end lifestyle amenities with technical golfing functionality.
Key features of the facility include:
“It’s remarkable to see the project take shape day by day,” said Dean Nelson, General Manager of Plover Cove Golf Club. “Delivering something of this scale requires a clear focus on quality and a long-term view of what we are creating for future members and the golfing industry. With clubhouse construction now underway, we are continuing to make steady progress toward bringing the full vision of Plover Cove Golf Club to life.”
At the heart of the 6,600-yard course is a commitment to environmental responsibility. The project utilizes the adaptive reuse of a former landfill site, integrating environmentally responsive designs across both the landscape and the physical structures.
According to the developers, these measures are intended to ensure "long-term resilience" and align with modern expectations for sustainable sports infrastructure in the region.
The landmark project is being brought to life through a partnership of international industry leaders:
Once completed, Plover Cove Golf Club will offer a full suite of luxury lifestyle facilities, providing a new sporting hub for the New Territories and the broader Hong Kong golfing community.
