HYDERABAD, India — In a landmark move for the sport, the Indian Golf Premier League (IGPL) has announced AM Green as its marquee title sponsor. The tournament, now officially rebranded as the AM Green Indian Golf Premier League, sets a new global precedent as the world’s first franchise-based professional golf league with a primary focus on sustainability.
Headquartered in Hyderabad, AM Green is a global leader in energy transition, specializing in green hydrogen, biofuels, and sustainable aviation fuel. The partnership aims to position the league as a benchmark for eco-friendly sporting events on the international stage.
The league features ten city-based franchises representing Hyderabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Goa, Bengaluru, Punjab, and Gurugram. These teams are mentored by a "who’s who" of Indian golf legends, including:
Beyond the men's professional circuit, the IGPL has established a collaborative pathway with the Indian Golf Union (IGU), Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), and Women’s Golf Association of India (WGAI) to bolster grassroots and women’s golf.
The leadership from both organizations emphasized that the partnership transcends traditional branding, focusing instead on shared futuristic values.
“AM Green is precisely the kind of partner the IGPL was built for," said Uttam Singh Mundy, CEO of IGPL. "This is an organisation that is not adjusting to the future but actively building it. The values that define AM Green—precision, ambition, and a belief that India can lead—are the same values we are putting at the heart of this league.”
Mr. Anil Chalamalasetty, Chairman of AM Green, noted the synergy between the sport and the green energy sector:
“Golf, with its emphasis on precision, strategy, and discipline, resonates deeply with our values as an organization. We are proud to be associated with this prestigious tournament and look forward to witnessing remarkable talent and memorable moments on the greens.”
The AM Green IGPL acts as a critical bridge for Indian talent, offering a direct pathway to international competition through the LIV Golf International Series.
Following successful international legs in the UAE and Sri Lanka in 2025, the IGPL 2026 Invitational Tour is set to expand its footprint significantly. Upcoming national and international stops include:
By combining high-stakes franchise competition with a commitment to industrial decarbonization, the AM Green IGPL is teeing up to change the narrative of professional golf both in India and abroad.
