
Daebo Group (Chairman Choi Dae-gyu) announced on the 31st that it has appointed Jeong Seok-cheon, a Seowon Valley Country Club management executive (executive director) as its new CEO.
CEO Lee Seok-ho, who has run the Seowon Valley Country Club for nine years, will retire on December 31, while new CEO Jeong Seok-cheon will take charge of the golf course from January 1, 2025.
Chung is a golf course management expert who joined the Seowon Valley CC when it opened in 1999 and has experienced key duties such as game management, member management, strategic marketing, and management executives. It played a key role in the Seowon Valley Charity Green Concert, a joint wedding ceremony for multicultural families, fostering dream trees, operating Daebo Golf Club, and hosting various competitions, including the U.S. Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour and the Korean Men's and Women's Professional Golf Tour.
An official from Daebo Group said, "Based on Chung's abundant know-how accumulated over 30 years, it is expected to effectively develop various infrastructures in Seowon Valley and lead the golf course."
Seowon Valley Country Club is considered a prestigious course in the northern part of the metropolitan area, winning the "Top 10 Korean Membership and Public Golf Course," the "KPGA Tournament of the Year Course Award," the "Minister of Sports and Tourism Award" and the "Golf Brand Grand Prize" for its best course management.
