In a powerful display of year-end philanthropy, Doosan Construction and legendary professional golfer Shin Jiae have teamed up to donate 70 million KRW (approx. $54,000 USD) to support vulnerable youth and pediatric medical care.
The announcement, made on December 29, 2025, marks the first joint social contribution project between the construction giant and the former World No. 1 since their sub-sponsorship partnership began earlier this year.
The donation was structured as a matching grant, with Shin Jiae contributing 35 million KRW from her tournament earnings and Doosan Construction matching the amount. Notably, the corporate portion was funded by the “Doosan Construction Change Fund”—a unique program where employees voluntarily donate the "small change" (remaining fractions) from their monthly salaries.
The total funds were distributed across three specialized organizations to maximize the impact on the community:
| Organization | Amount | Purpose |
| Korea Life Respect Hope Foundation | 40 Million KRW | Supporting children bereaved by parental suicide through the “Dream Growth Project.” |
| Yonsei University Medical Center | 20 Million KRW | Development funds for Severance Children's Hospital to improve pediatric treatment facilities. |
| Our Growth Story | 10 Million KRW | Supporting the independence and self-reliance of North Korean defector youth living in group homes. |
For Shin Jiae, this donation continues a remarkable personal streak of altruism.
“I am grateful to be able to continue this long-standing sharing again this year,” Shin stated during the ceremony. “Thanks to Doosan Construction joining me, we have been able to bring hope to even more places. I sincerely hope that children will feel the warmth of our society and continue to pursue their dreams.”
A representative for Doosan Construction noted that they were "inspired by Shin Jiae’s consistent charitable activities" and wanted to expand their relationship beyond a traditional sports sponsorship. The company plans to continue leveraging its partnerships to create social value and engage in community sharing activities.
