Former National Golfers Raise S$250,000 for At-Risk Youth in Inaugural ‘Golf for Good’

2 January, 2026

In a powerful display of sport as a vehicle for social change, the inaugural Golf for Good 2025 tournament held at Tanah Merah Country Club’s (TMCC) Garden Course successfully raised S$250,000 for local charity Impart.

The event, held as part of the nation’s SG60 celebrations, marked the first major milestone for the newly established National Golfers Alumni. Supported by the Singapore Golf Association (SGA) Athletes’ Commission, the initiative was born from a desire among former national representatives to give back to the community that fostered their own careers.

Driving Change for Impart

The funds raised will directly support Impart, a charity dedicated to empowering youths facing significant adversities. Through a holistic approach involving mentorship, educational support, and community care, Impart aims to help vulnerable young people build resilience and chart new pathways for their futures.

Narasimman, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Impart, noted the profound impact of the donation for a smaller organization. "Each connection forged is akin to a perfect swing that drives us closer to our mission," he said. "The generosity demonstrated reflects a strong support system for Impart—almost like an extended family."

A Legacy on the Green

The choice of venue held deep sentimental value for the organizers. With the Garden Course lease set to expire in 2035, the alumni sought to showcase the positive community impact of the sport at a venue where many of them once trained and competed.

"Golf for Good 2025 embodies the shared desire of former national golfers to bring the community together and do good through and to golf," said George Foo, a member of the Alumni organizing team and Chairman of the SGA Athletes’ Commission.

TMCC President Ronald Ong echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that the club views golf as "more than a sport," but rather a "force for positive change."

More Than a Fundraiser: Impact in Action

Beyond the competition, the event focused on inclusivity. A special introduction-to-golf clinic was held for youths supported by Impart, providing many with their first experience on a golf course.

For 16-year-old Joshua, an Impart beneficiary, the session was about more than just technique. "Just like in the golf session, where I learned to focus on my practice, Impart has guided me in my education and in pursuing my larger goals," he shared, noting how the charity had previously helped him overcome social isolation following the pandemic.
