A unique sporting blueprint is unfolding on the fairways of Thailand. Rather than practicing on isolated driving ranges, 24 of the nation’s brightest junior golfers are being dropped directly onto the grass alongside the country's top touring professionals.
The Play with Pro 2026 project, now entering its second year, bridges the gap between raw potential and professional execution. In a rare display of institutional unity, four of the country’s heaviest golfing bodies have aligned to fund and execute the initiative:
The program's core philosophy bypasses traditional, sterile coaching clinics. Instead, it pairs the juniors with seasoned pros from Thailand's three leading tours for immersive, one-on-one strategy sessions during live course play.
The 2026 campaign launched at the Watermill Golf Club and Resort in Nakhon Nayok, partnering with the Thailand PGA. The setup allowed the 24 selected juniors to shadow and play alongside heavyweight Thai professionals, including:
Rather than focusing purely on swing mechanics, the pros spent the session dissecting live-game psychology, course management, and real-world shot selection.
For the veterans, the initiative is a way to pay forward the mentorship they received early in their careers.
"Professional golfers were once junior golfers. We understand that opportunities to learn are the most valuable experiences," said Prom Meesawat.
"Today, we are ready to dedicate our time to sharing our experience with these young players to create a new generation of golfers. We hope that these young golfers will grow into quality golfers who will bring fame to the country in the future."
The project is designed as a multi-phase tour experience, exposing the juniors to different styles of professional play.
The next stop shifts the focus to the women's circuit. The juniors will head to the Singha-NSF Ladies Championship 2026—a premier Thai LPGA Tour event—on July 7, where they will be embedded with the field's top female pros.
