Jung-gu to Launch Largest Screen Park Golf Network in Seoul

5 December, 2025

Jung-gu District, led by Mayor Kim Gilseong, is set to become the epicenter of indoor golf in Seoul, announcing plans to establish screen park golf courses at five public facilities across the district by March next year.

This initiative marks the first time such facilities have been introduced in Jung-gu, and with a total of 21 hitting bays planned, the district will host the largest screen park golf network among all Seoul districts.

Trial Operations Begin in December

The first two locations, Chungmu Sports Center and Hunryeonwon Park, are scheduled to begin trial operations next month.

  • Chungmu Sports Center: Six hitting bays have been installed on the 6th floor.
  • Hunryeonwon Park: One hitting bay has been set up at the comprehensive gymnasium on the 1st floor.

The facilities will be managed by the Jung-gu Facilities Management Corporation.

A resident trial group will be invited to provide feedback during a complimentary period from December 1 to December 19. Residents can use the facility for free for two hours per session (9:00 a.m. or 1:30 p.m.), with applications available on the Jung-gu District Office website or by phone (02-3396-4654).

Non-residents of Jung-gu can also apply for use via the Jung-gu Facilities Management Corporation website or the Seoul Public Service Reservation system. The facility is designed to be accessible, allowing beginners to enjoy the game without special equipment and offering basic swing guidance. Up to four people can use each hitting bay simultaneously for two hours per day.

Rapid Expansion to Meet Demand

Park golf, which can be enjoyed with just one club, has seen explosive growth in South Korea, with registered member numbers surging by 183% over the past three years. This rapid popularity has fueled the spread of indoor screen park golf courses.

Jung-gu is capitalizing on this trend by accelerating installation at three additional sites: Euljinuri Center, Chungmu Startup Cube, and Yurak Welfare Center. These venues will add 14 hitting bays, completing the 21-bay network by March 2026.

Mayor Kim Gilseong highlighted the significance of the new initiative for the community.

“Now, residents can fully enjoy the increasingly popular screen park golf right here in Jung-gu,” Mayor Kim stated. “I hope everyone can maintain a vibrant daily life with family and friends even during the cold winter, and we will continue to expand the foundation for sports for all.”

The expansion of these accessible, indoor sports facilities is a significant move by Jung-gu to enhance resident well-being and provide recreational options year-round.
