CHONBURI, Thailand – The Korea Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) officially launched the Asia-Pacific Golf Summit 2026 today, a landmark two-day event aimed at unifying and expanding the reach of women’s professional golf across the continent.
The summit is being held at the KLPGA Suite Lounge within the Amata Spring Country Club. The venue is also set to host the 2026 KLPGA season opener, the "Rejuran Championship," which begins immediately following the summit's conclusion.
As the first official gathering of its kind, the Asia-Pacific Golf Summit serves as a dedicated platform to discuss joint growth strategies and institutionalize a cooperative system among regional governing bodies. Officials from major women’s golf associations—including those from China, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, and Vietnam—are in attendance alongside various government and sports representatives.
The KLPGA stated that it expects the summit to "establish a direct network between Asian Women's Golf Associations to lay the groundwork for promoting Asian co-hosted competitions and programs." Furthermore, the association aims to "secure a bridgehead for promoting regional cooperation projects in Asia."
The two-day agenda covers several critical pillars for the sport's regional evolution:
KLPGA Chairman Kim Sang-yeol expressed high hopes for the long-term impact of the gathering.
"I am truly happy to host the Asia Pacific Golf Summit 2026, which will be the starting point for Asian women's golf cooperation," said Chairman Kim. "Through this summit, we hope that the Asian Women's Golf Association will be able to build a sustainable cooperative ecosystem. We will continue to hold such summits regularly so that KLPGA can serve as a hub for Asian women's golf."
On the second day of the summit, attendees will transition from the boardroom to the fairway to watch the opening round of the Rejuran Championship. The tournament features a total prize purse of 1.2 billion won (approx. $915,000), signaling a high-stakes start to the 2026 season and a new era of regional partnership.
