9 January, 2026

The Korea Golf Course Management Association reported that its member clubs donated a total of 2.8 billion won to social contribution activities last year. These contributions encompassed a variety of initiatives, including scholarship support and the provision of daily necessities.

On January 5, the association announced the results of a survey conducted to assess the social contribution efforts of golf courses operated by its members across the nation. The total donations amounted to 2.8 billion won, reflecting a commitment to societal welfare.

Among the notable contributors was Hanyang Country Club, which generously donated 500 million won to the Community Chest of Korea and to support scholarship students. 88 Country Club also played a significant role, contributing 484 million won towards scholarship opportunities and assistance for veterans' organizations. Additional contributions came from Cheonan Sangnok Country Club (204 million won), Happiness (180 million won), and Mungyeong Country Club (150 million won), all of which extended their support to local communities and those in need.

Chairman Choi Dongho commented, "I hope that the dedication of golf courses, especially in difficult times, will be a great source of strength for local communities." He added, "We will continue to encourage sharing activities so that the golf industry can fulfill its social responsibilities and become a beloved leisure industry for the public."

A representative from the Korea Golf Course Management Association noted that some golf courses were unable to participate in the survey due to extended closures during the winter season. Additionally, certain clubs keep their social contribution amounts confidential. As a result, the actual total of donations is likely to be considerably higher than the reported figures.
