LIV Golf Expands Asia-Pacific Footprint with New Regional Leadership

8 February, 2026

LIV Golf has announced a major strategic expansion into the East Asian market, headlined by the appointment of Martin Kim as Regional Managing Director for Korea & East Asia and General Manager of the newly rebranded Korean Golf Club.

The move signals a significant push to integrate LIV’s signature blend of "world-class performance, entertainment, and culture" into the high-growth Asian market. The league’s new leadership structure is designed to strengthen local connections and scale commercial opportunities across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.

A New Era for Korean Golf

Martin Kim, a seasoned executive with over a decade of experience across MLB and e-sports, will lead the charge in South Korea. Kim is a familiar face in the region, formerly serving as the interpreter for MLB star Ryu Hyun-jin during his tenure with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Before joining LIV, Kim served as Chief Revenue Officer at Gen.G Esports. Since transitioning to golf, he has already secured landmark partnerships with Coupang Play and Hanwha’s financial brand, PLUS. His new role includes overseeing the recruitment of a star-studded Korean roster that features:

  • Ahn Byung-hoon (Captain)
  • Song Young-han
  • Kim Min-kyu
  • Danny Lee

Strengthening the APAC Leadership Team

In addition to Kim's appointment, LIV Golf has bolstered its regional executive team to support its growing calendar of events:

  • Ben Slack (Regional Managing Director, Australia): Tasked with maintaining the momentum of LIV Golf Adelaide, which has been voted the "World's Best Golf Event" for three consecutive years. Slack previously held senior roles at World Rugby and Tennis Australia.
  • Chris Beadle (Vice President, Global Commercial, APAC): Formerly with the English Premier League’s Aston Villa, Beadle will lead partnership strategies across major hubs including Singapore and Hong Kong.

Global Vision, Local Execution

The appointments are part of LIV Golf’s "Global. Local. Team." business strategy, aimed at providing professional leadership that understands the nuances of each specific market.

"Asia-Pacific is one of the most dynamic regions in the global sports industry," said Chris Heck, LIV Golf President of Business Operations. "Through this personnel appointment, we have deployed experienced leadership... to deeply understand each market and further strengthen connections with fans, partners, and communities."

Looking Ahead: 2026 APAC Schedule

The new leadership team will support a robust 2026 schedule across the region:

  • HSBC LIV Golf Hong Kong: March 5–8
  • LIV Golf Adelaide: March 12–15
  • Aramco LIV Golf Singapore: March 12–15
  • LIV Golf Korea: Dates to be announced

LIV Golf’s commitment to the region is further underscored by its partnership with the South Australian Tourism Committee to host the Adelaide event through 2031.
