The Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) today announced a major new multi-year media partnership with Eclat Media Group, one of Asia's leading sports media companies, and its flagship platform, SPOTV. This strategic alliance, beginning next season, promises to deliver unprecedented coverage of the LPGA Tour to fans in South Korea, one of the tour’s most vital global markets.
SPOTV, recognized as the No. 1 sports channel in Korea for the past 6 years, will broadcast LPGA Tour events across its linear and digital channels. This move is set to give Korean golf enthusiasts enhanced access to their favorite athletes and compelling tournament storylines throughout the year.
LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler highlighted the profound significance of the Korean market in the announcement.
“Korea is one of the LPGA’s most influential and deeply connected fan communities,” said Commissioner Kessler. “The contributions of Korean players, partners and media have been enormous and through this partnership with Eclat Media Group and SPOTV, we’re committed to honoring that legacy and elevating it. With SPOTV’s unmatched platform across TV, print and digital, we’ll give Korean fans unprecedented access and further elevate the global spotlight on our athletes.”
The agreement extends beyond broadcast rights, encompassing a significant investment in marketing and editorial support across Eclat’s diverse ecosystem. This includes:
This comprehensive approach will substantially expand the coverage of LPGA athletes, tournaments, and original content. SPOTV's current golf portfolio already features many of the game's most prestigious global properties, cementing its position as the home of world-class golf in Korea.
A SPOTV representative commented on the strategic advantage of the partnership:
"As the leading hub for global sports content in Asia, SPOTV is the ideal media partner as the LPGA seeks to strengthen its presence across the region. Through Golf Digest Korea, SPOTV NOW, and our social media channels with over 17 million followers, we have consistently delivered world-class golf content to fans across Asia and beyond. Going forward, we will continue to invest in tournament broadcasts and original golf content to enhance the viewing experience and elevate the brand value of both the LPGA and SPOTV."
This partnership follows the LPGA’s recent multi-year media agreement with U-NEXT in Japan. Both deals underscore the LPGA’s robust commitment to growing women’s golf worldwide by expanding reach, deepening access, and delivering richer storytelling to a global audience. The collaboration with Eclat Media Group and SPOTV marks another significant stride in solidifying the LPGA's position as a truly global sports organization.
