Plover Cove Golf Club and 54 Set a New Standard for Golfing Excellence in Hong Kong

19 November, 2025

The global sports agency 54 has been appointed by Plover Cove Golf Club to enhance elite membership acquisition through its established connections with high-net-worth audiences. This partnership aims to promote a landmark project that is revitalizing land in Hong Kong.

The multi-billion-dollar development at Plover Cove is poised to become the region’s premier golfing destination. 54 is committed to sharing the club's narrative and fostering a community of ultra-high-net-worth individuals who prioritize legacy and the enjoyment of the club for future generations.

As part of this collaboration, 54 will manage engagement with high-end audiences through targeted marketing campaigns and community acquisition strategies. Additionally, the company Turfgrass® will partner with Flagstick Golf Course Construction Management and the renowned Fry/Straka agency to ensure the highest quality golfing experience.

Currently underway, the $4.5 billion project represents what is likely the final permitted golf course development in Hong Kong. The club will cater to the ultra-high-net-worth market and business leaders in the region, with an expected opening date in 2027.

Dean Nelson, General Manager of Plover Cove Golf Club, stated: “Plover Cove Golf Club will be a groundbreaking golf course that represents a new standard in both design and conditioning, positioning itself among the finest in the world. It’s key we work with people who share our vision for what this club can achieve and in 54 we have the ideal partner. They possess not only vital local nuance but also the international and global presence needed to share the story of this legendary project on the world stage.”

Ed Edwards, CEO of 54, emphasized the uniqueness of this opportunity: “Opportunities like this don’t come around too often; the chance to create a sublime golf course among the very best in the world in such a technically challenging but stunning location is one we are fully embracing. The Hong Kong and wider Asian market are territories we know so well, and it’s important we drive this business to local and international audiences equally effectively. This is the kind of project which sets our pulse racing at 54, and we can’t wait to share it with the world.”

54 already maintains a strong presence in Asia, with offices in Vietnam and Singapore. The agency oversees services for the prestigious Sentosa Golf Club and plays a crucial role in the LIV Golf tournament in Hong Kong, as well as the International Series events in Macau, Japan, Manila, and Hong Kong.

The agency also partners with the PIF Global Series, which includes five marquee events on the Ladies European Tour. Among its strategic advisory projects are initiatives in China, Korea, Japan, Thailand, and Vietnam, where it collaborates closely with the Vietnam Golf Association and the Tourism Authority, including the recent Vietnam Golf Course Owners Summit.

Additionally, 54's portfolio includes a range of luxury venues such as Adare Manor, a Ryder Cup venue, the former Solheim Cup host Finca Cortesin, and the ultra-exclusive Institute in California. Its partner, Turfgrass®, is a prestigious international golf course development firm with an impressive footprint in Asia, collaborating with projects such as Hoiana Shores in Vietnam and the Karachi Golf Club in Pakistan.
