Plover Cove Golf Club (PCGC) has introduced a live camera feed to provide real-time public access to the ongoing construction of its new championship golf course in Hong Kong. As the first private golf course development in the region in nearly 50 years, the project carries significant historical importance and is scheduled for completion in summer 2027.
The live camera system features two viewpoints:
The course is being built on up to 53 hectares of restored landfill in the Tai Po area (Shuen Wan landfill site). To address the site's naturally rolling landscape, engineers have employed retaining wall technology. The core structure is a 6–8-meter-high wall, now extended to 1.8 km in length (from the original plan of 1.5 km). This enables the creation of an 18-hole championship layout exceeding 6,600 yards with a par of 71.
As of early 2026, Phase One of construction is approximately 80% complete, while Phase Two has advanced to 50% completion. The development integrates advanced engineering, drainage systems, sand capping, and sustainable practices.
Dean Nelson, General Manager of Plover Cove Golf Club, stated: “As we enter 2026—a pivotal year in our journey—this initiative opens a transparent and engaging window into the full construction process, inviting the public to witness a once-in-50-year private landmark project as it takes shape. The progress presented goes far beyond the golf course, reflecting the transformation of the clubhouse from groundbreaking into a holistic, comprehensive destination designed for our future members. We’re excited to invite everyone to follow this journey as an iconic vision comes to life.”
Upon completion, the club will offer a full range of luxury lifestyle facilities within a dynamic clubhouse. It is expected to deliver broader community benefits, including regular youth training programs and demonstrations of successful landfill restoration and land revitalization efforts. The total investment is up to HK$4.5 billion.
The live feed is accessible via the club's official channels (such as pcgc.com), and interested individuals can also arrange site tours to observe the progress in person. This development is anticipated to become one of Hong Kong's most prestigious golf destinations, potentially the last new private championship course in the region.
