Pocheon City Tees Up Partnership with Golf Course CEOs

On November 3rd, Pocheon City in Gyeonggi Province hosted a meeting with the CEOs of 12 local golf courses to forge a path for mutual cooperation and revitalize the local economy.

Led by Mayor Baek Younghyun, the gathering at City Hall focused on collaborative strategies, including:

  • Creating local jobs.
  • Expanding the use of local agricultural products.
  • Increasing resident discounts on green and cart fees.

The golf course CEOs pledged to strengthen community cooperation, actively support the sale of local produce, and increase aid for athletes in the Gyeonggi Provincial Sports Festival.

Mayor Baek emphasized the golf industry's significant role in the local economy, stating the goal is to establish a sustainable development model for mutual growth. Pocheon City plans to establish regular communication to ensure the golf industry and the local economy flourish together.

This meeting was organized to explore directions for mutual cooperation aimed at revitalizing the local economy and advancing the golf industry. More than 20 people attended, including Baek Younghyun, Mayor of Pocheon, the President of the Pocheon Sports Council, the CEO of the Pocheon Agricultural Foundation, and the CEOs of the local golf courses. Participants discussed various collaborative measures, such as creating local jobs, expanding the use of local agricultural products, and increasing discounts on green fees and cart fees for residents.

The golf course CEOs stated, "Taking this meeting as an opportunity, we will further strengthen cooperation with the local community and actively promote support for the sale of local agricultural products and increased support for athletes participating in the Gyeonggi Provincial Sports Festival."

Baek Younghyun, Mayor of Pocheon, said, "The golf industry accounts for a significant portion of the local economy," and added, "The city and the golf courses will work together to create a sustainable development model that enables mutual growth with the local community."

Building on this meeting, Pocheon City plans to establish regular communication channels and strengthen the foundation for the golf industry and the local economy to grow together.
