Saadiyat Beach Golf Club Hits Record Highs Following Course Enhancements

15 January, 2026

Saadiyat Beach Golf Club has announced a record-breaking conclusion to 2025, reporting its most successful final quarter in history. The surge in performance follows the highly anticipated reopening of its enhanced back nine, which has seen golfers flocking to the Arabian Gulf coastline to experience the course in peak condition.

A Record-Breaking Quarter

The final three months of 2025 marked a historic milestone for the club. Driven by intense demand from club members, local residents, and international golf tourists, the venue saw unprecedented footfall. This momentum is largely attributed to the successful "bedding in" of the course’s new layout, which has now matured into world-class playing surfaces.

"The completion of the back nine enhancements was just the beginning," said Karl Whitehead, Cluster Manager at Viya Golf. "What’s exciting now is seeing the course really come into its own. The condition is excellent, the course is playing exactly as intended, and the feedback from golfers has been overwhelmingly positive."

Redefining the Back Nine

The recent upgrades were a collaborative effort between Nicklaus Design and Gary Player Design. The project aimed to preserve the course’s original coastal character while introducing fresh tactical challenges and improved flow.

Key architectural highlights of the renovated back nine include:

  • The 10th Hole: Refinements to the driveable par-4, offering a high-risk, high-reward start to the inward half.
  • Repositioned Tees: Extended and realigned tee boxes on the 11th and 15th holes to test accuracy and distance.
  • Reimagined Par-4: A dramatically reworked long par-4 that now plays directly toward the ocean.
  • New Par-3: A striking short hole framed by sculpted dunes and panoramic coastal views.
  • The Finish: Updated contours and native beach-style waste areas that lead players to a memorable conclusion against the backdrop of Saadiyat’s white sands.

Golf in Harmony with Nature

Beyond the technical improvements, Saadiyat Beach Golf Club continues to lead the region in environmental stewardship. As the Middle East’s first Audubon Certified Cooperative Sanctuary, the course remains a thriving habitat for over 250 free-roaming gazelles and various migratory bird species.

The combination of elite conditioning and a unique ecological setting has solidified the club's reputation as one of the UAE’s "must-play" venues, successfully blending a professional-grade challenge with the natural beauty of Saadiyat Island.
