DESARU COAST, JOHOR, MALAYSIA – The Ridge Course at The Els Club Desaru Coast has officially reopened on April 1, following a comprehensive 12-month enhancement programme. The project was carried out entirely by the club’s internal agronomy team.

The extensive work on the Ridge Course—one of three nine-hole layouts at the Ernie Els Signature Design Ocean Course—highlights the venue's commitment to delivering a premium golf experience while preserving the integrity of its original design.

Technical and Aesthetic Upgrades

Key improvements to the course include:

• Fairway Regrassing: Surfaces have been carefully restored to provide healthier, more consistent playing conditions.
• Bunker Refurbishment: All bunkers have been refurbished with new sand and upgraded drainage systems to ensure optimal performance in all weather conditions.
• Landscaping: New coastal landscaping has been introduced to highlight the natural beauty of the South China Sea backdrop.
• Fleet Upgrade: A new fleet of golf carts has been introduced to enhance player comfort.

Yong Fan Wee, Director of Agronomy, noted the internal effort behind the project:
