The Orchard Golf & Country Club to Host 2025 APGC Senior Amateur Championships

12 August, 2025

The Asia-Pacific’s best senior amateur golfers will head to the Philippines this September, with The Orchard Golf & Country Club confirmed as the venue for the 2025 Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) Senior Amateur Championships.

Scheduled for 24–26 September, the event will see Australia attempting to complete a rare third consecutive sweep of both men’s and women’s team titles. Reigning individual champions Heo Ji-baek (Korea) and Lisa Herbert (New Zealand) are also expected to return, aiming to defend the crowns they won in Vietnam last year at Vinpearl Hai Phong.

“The Seniors remains one of the most popular events on our calendar,” said Taimur Hassan Amin, APGC Chairman. “Since its revival post-Covid, the championship has been oversubscribed every year — and we expect another strong field in 2025. The APGC has a long history with the Philippines, and we are grateful to The Orchard Golf & Country Club, as well as to NGAP Chairman Alfredo Panlilio and President Martin Lorenzo, for their support.”

Located just 27 kilometres southwest of Manila, The Orchard boasts two world-class layouts designed by Arnold Palmer and Gary Player. This year’s event marks the first time in nine years — and only the third time this century — that the Philippines has hosted the Seniors.

The tournament format features four men’s age divisions (55–59, 60–64, 65–69, and 70+) and three women’s divisions (50–54, 55–59, and 60+), each with handicap limits. Both men’s and women’s competitions will include team events, with national teams determined by the lowest combined gross scores from each round (best three scores for men, best two for women).

The APGC Men’s Senior Amateur Championship, inaugurated in 1986, remains the region’s premier senior amateur event. The men’s champion earns an exemption from The R&A Senior Amateur Championship.

Entry deadline: 12 September 2025.
Eligibility: Men aged 55+ and women aged 50+, meeting their division’s handicap limit or holding exempt status.
