2025 Women's Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship heading to Vietnam!

25 September, 2024

The R&A and the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC) have announced that the Women’s Amateur Asia-Pacific (WAAP) championship is heading to Hoiana Shores in Vietnam from March 6-9, 2025 - This marks the first time Vietnam will host this prestigious event!

Nestled along the stunning coastline in Hoi An, Hoiana Shores Golf Club is known for its breathtaking views of the Eastern Sea and Cham Islands. The Robert Trent Jones Jr. course features a challenging back nine, complete with sea breezes and tricky bunkers that will test even the best players.

From winning the ‘Best New Course in Asia Pacific’ back in 2019, the course has gone on to win multiple more awards each year and has proved to be a popular golfing destination with continued emergence of golf in Vietnam.

The WAAP has a track record of launching the careers of some incredible female golfers, including major champions like Yuka Saso, Patty Tavatanakit, Ayaka Furue, and former world number one, Jeeno Thitikul.

The champion will receive potentially life-changing opportunities with invitations to three major championships: the AIG Women’s Open, Amundi Evian Championship, and the Chevron Championship.

Additionally, they’ll get invites to other elite events like the Hana Financial Group Championship, ISPS Handa Australian Open, The 122nd Women's Amateur Championship, and of course, the Augusta National Women’s Amateur.
