A New Era of Sporting Leadership at Delhi Golf Club

12 October, 2026

NEW DELHI - In a major leadership shift, the Delhi Golf Club (DGC) has elected a new committee comprised entirely of accomplished athletes, national champions, and former national coaches.

The recent elections placed former National Golf Champion and veteran national coach Amandeep Johl at the helm as the club's new captain. Johl, whose involvement in golf spans five decades, will lead a distinguished board of sporting veterans.

Joining Johl on the new committee are:

  • Gaurav Ghei, a veteran professional golfer who became the first Indian to compete in a men's Major Championship.
  • Mansher Singh, an Arjuna Awardee and celebrated international shooting champion.
  • Karan Atwal, a former Junior National Golf Champion.
  • Vikram Sethi, a former National Golf Coach with extensive experience developing top-tier golfing talent.

The influx of high-level competitive background marks a new era for the historic club, aiming to blend professional athletic insight with day-to-day administration.

"This committee brings together people who have competed, coached and represented India at the highest levels," said Johl following the election results. "We want to combine that sporting knowledge with sound administration so that Delhi Golf Club remains a place members are proud of and a course worthy of its legacy".

The newly formed leadership team plans to focus on course conditions, player experience, and preserving the club's rich heritage while managing its administrative operations.
