
Al Mouj Golf has officially introduced Ryan Smith as its new Golf Operations Manager. Bringing more than 24 years of experience in golf operations and golf management, Smith joins the team to oversee all golf-related activities and tournament operations at the facility.
Originally from South Africa, Smith’s career in golf management spans roles across Southern Africa and the Middle East. Prior to his appointment at Al Mouj Golf, he served as the Head Professional at Pearl Valley Golf Estates in South Africa. He subsequently relocated to the United Arab Emirates, where he held golf operations management roles at The Montgomerie, Dubai, and Arabian Ranches.
In his role as Golf Operations Manager, Smith is responsible for directing daily golf operations and managing tournament schedules. His primary focus centers on delivering operational consistency and enhancing the experience for club members, guests, and visitors.
When asked about his favorite aspect of working in the golf industry, Smith highlighted the interpersonal engagement:
"Mixing with members and guests and meeting different nationalities."
Regarding his initial experience at Al Mouj Golf, Smith noted three key highlights:
"The excellent golf course, dealing with the members and working with the staff."
Beyond his managerial tenure, Smith holds notable achievements as a competitive professional, including winning the UAE PGA Matchplay and serving as captain of the UAE PGA professional team. Outside of golf, his athletic background includes playing cricket, football, rugby, and tennis.
