
Dubai Golf (operating under the Viya brand) has announced the appointment of Anna Darnell as the new General Manager of Emirates Golf Club. She will join the team in October, bringing more than two decades of experience in luxury hospitality, golf and leisure.
Darnell began her career as a PGA Professional. She has held leadership roles in both the UK and the Middle East, with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences, building high-performing teams and driving operational excellence. Her career includes a long tenure at The Grove in Hertfordshire, England, where she rose through the ranks from corporate golf co-ordinator (joining in 2005) to roles including Head PGA Professional, Director of Golf, Resort Leisure Director, Resort Director and, most recently, General Manager. She previously gained teaching experience at venues such as Loch Lomond and The Royal Golf Club in Bahrain.
In a statement, Dubai Golf expressed delight at the appointment, noting that Emirates Golf Club is entering an exciting new chapter. The organisation looks forward to the leadership, expertise and passion Darnell will bring to members, guests and colleagues at one of the region’s most iconic golf destinations. Darnell herself commented that she cannot wait to join the team at Dubai Golf and Emirates Golf Club, describing the period ahead as exciting times.
