Pungsan Group has strongly denied recent media reports suggesting the company is planning to acquire Jack Nicklaus Golf Club (GC) Korea, a prestigious golf course located in Songdo, Incheon.
In an official regulatory disclosure released on May 14, the South Korean manufacturing conglomerate moved quickly to squash the rumors.
"The content of the report about the pursuit of the Jack Nicklaus GC acquisition is not true," Pungsan clarified in the statement, explicitly adding, "We are not considering this acquisition."
The official denial comes after a local media outlet reported that Pungsan Group had already taken concrete steps toward a buyout. According to those initial reports, the group had allegedly selected a financial advisor to review the deal's structure and valuation.
However, Pungsan's swift public disclosure has firmly put those claims to rest.
Jack Nicklaus GC Korea is widely regarded as one of the country's ultra-premium golfing venues.
Despite the intense market speculation surrounding the future of this landmark property, Pungsan has made it clear that they have no intention of entering the luxury golf market anytime soon.
