Saudi Arabia: Royal Greens Golf & Country Club Appoints Potgieter as General Manager

SAUDI ARABIA - Royal Greens Golf & Country Club and Golf Saudi are delighted to announce the promotion and appointment of Theo Potgieter (CMDip, PGA AA) as the club's new General Manager.

Potgieter, who has served as the club's Operations Manager since January 2023, transitions into the top leadership role this month. This appointment marks a significant milestone in his distinguished 14-year career in the golf and hospitality industry, which has seen him rise through the ranks across South Africa and the Middle East.

A Proven Track Record in the Region

Potgieter’s journey is a testament to dedication, continuous professional development, and a deep understanding of the Middle Eastern golf landscape. His impressive career trajectory includes key roles at some of the region's most prestigious clubs:

  • Royal Greens Golf & Country Club: General Manager (Present) & Operations Manager (2023–2026)
  • Riyadh Golf Club: Golf Operations Manager (2020–2022)
  • Abu Dhabi Golf Club & Saadiyat Beach Golf Club: Group Membership & Leisure Manager, Membership Executive, and Training Manager (2014–2020)
  • Waterkloof Golf & Country Club: Assistant Golf Professional (South Africa, 2013–2014)

He also brings invaluable experience from his involvement in a high-profile, private VIP golf course pre-opening project.
