DP World PGTI เปิดตัวโครงการสนับสนุนทางการเงินสำหรับนักกอล์ฟชาวอินเดียที่เข้าร่วมการแข่งขันในทัวร์ระดับนานาชาติ

19 ตุลาคม, 2026

New Delhi, 16 October 2026 — The DP World Professional Golf Tour of India (DP World PGTI) has announced a new Player Support Programme aimed at easing the financial burden on Indian professional golfers attempting to qualify for international tours.

Under the new initiative, the tour will provide up to ₹3 lakh to top-30 players from its Order of Merit to cover expenses incurred while participating in overseas Qualifying Schools. Additionally, players who successfully secure tour cards will receive a further ₹10 lakh each.

Overseas Q-Schools and Financial Terms

The financial backing applies to overseas Qualifying Schools across major international circuits, including the DP World Tour, the Japan Golf Tour, and the Asian Tour. The program addresses travelling and logistical costs that often impede young Indian professionals from competing abroad.

DP World PGTI CEO Mr. Amandeep Johl confirmed the operational status of the programme:

"The DP World PGTI is covering qualifying-school expenses of up to ₹3 lakh for players in the top 30. If they qualify, each player will receive ₹10 lakh. This has already been approved, the players have been informed, and the money has been set aside. At DP World PGTI, we have always been clear that this organisation is about the players."

Leadership and Partner Support

DP World PGTI President Mr. Kapil Dev emphasized the organization's commitment to creating international avenues for domestic players:

"We will do everything in our power to enable our players to get maximum playing opportunities on the international stage."

He also noted the significance of the tour's title partnership with DP World:

"We are very happy and delighted to have DP World as a partner. For any organisation, bringing in a major partner is important, and this has been a very positive development for Indian golf.”

Strategic Realignment and Tour Pathways

The initiative forms part of a broader plan to restore and strengthen direct pathways from India to global tours. Addressing recent developments in the regional golf landscape, Mr. Johl detailed the tour's alignment strategy:

“The traditional route from the DP World PGTI to the international stage used to be through the Asian Tour. However, the changes in the golf ecosystem over the past few years resulted in the absence of that transition to the Asian Tour making it harder for the players to move on to the DP World Tour. Now that we are once again aligning with the Asian Tour, there will be a stronger international pathway for our players. The organisation is also working towards staging Asian Development Tour events next year and, hopefully, Asian Tour events as well, alongside more co-sanctioned tournaments that offer world-ranking points and a path toward Olympic qualification.”

Additional Tour Initiatives

Alongside direct financial grants for Q-Schools, the DP World PGTI is pursuing several operational enhancements:

  • Improving player access to practice facilities.
  • Expanding regional reach to tier-two and tier-three cities through the NexGen Series.
  • Increasing total calendar events and overall prize money.
