BMW India Foundation and The Golf Foundation Launch Nationwide ‘Golf for Everyone’

31 December, 2025

In a landmark move to democratize a sport often viewed as the playground of the elite, the BMW India Foundation has joined forces with The Golf Foundation to launch ‘Golf for Everyone.’ The nationwide initiative is designed to identify and nurture golfing talent among underprivileged children, bringing the sport to government and low-income schools across India.

Breaking the "Privilege" Barrier

The program aims to dismantle socio-economic barriers by introducing golf to children who would otherwise never have access to a golf course. Speaking at the launch, Mr. Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO of BMW Group India, emphasized the transformative potential of the project.

"Golf has traditionally been perceived as a sport limited to the privileged few due to accessibility and resource constraints," said Mr. Brar. "The ‘Golf for Everyone’ program seeks to change this narrative by creating opportunities for talented young athletes regardless of their socio-economic background."

The 2025–26 National Talent Hunt

As the centerpiece of this partnership, the organizations will conduct India’s largest annual golf talent hunt for the 2025–26 season. The discovery process follows a rigorous, multi-stage grassroots approach:

Stage Process
1. Identification In-school camps using portable hitting mats, nets, and putting kits.
2. Athletic Assessment Drills in sprinting, jumping, and coordination to identify raw physical agility.
3. Regional Camps Shortlisted candidates advance to professional on-range golf facilities.
4. National Selection The top 30 promising golfers are selected for a full support package.

How to Apply: "I am Talent"

In a unique digital outreach effort, the initiative has opened a direct line for aspiring athletes. Children can participate by sending a WhatsApp message with the phrase “I am Talent” to +91 93106 92833.

Holistic Support for Future Champions

The 30 selected golfers will not just receive equipment; they will be integrated into a comprehensive development ecosystem. This includes:

  • Professional Coaching: Regular sessions with elite trainers.
  • Tournament Exposure: Funding and access to national-level competitions.
  • Personal Growth: Mentorship focused on discipline, perseverance, and sportsmanship.

By combining BMW’s corporate resources with The Golf Foundation’s grassroots expertise, the initiative hopes to foster a community-driven sporting culture that celebrates diversity and provides equal opportunity for India’s next generation of athletes.
