NEW DELHI - Global logistics leader DP World and the DP World Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) have jointly announced the launch of the "Race to DP World India Championship," a new season-long points race designed to reshape the Indian professional golf calendar.
The inaugural series features nine targeted tournaments boasting a combined prize purse of ₹10 crore, pushing the PGTI’s overall season prize pool to a record ₹41 crore.
The primary structural shift involves aligning the DP World PGTI schedule directly with the global DP World Tour calendar. Starting in 2026, the domestic season will conclude in October rather than December. This recalibration allows the PGTI Order of Merit Champion to transition smoothly onto the international circuit with immediate playing opportunities.
The "Race" culminates at the inaugural Kapil Dev Invitational Tour Championship at Jaypee Greens from September 30 to October 3. Following this event, key milestones will be finalized:

"Aligning our season with the DP World Tour creates greater opportunities for our leading players to make an immediate impact internationally."
The nine-event swing includes established stops such as the 12th edition of the Golconda Masters, the Chennai Open, and the Bengaluru Open, alongside new additions like the Nava Raipur Open. The first three events—the J&K Open, Coal India Open, and Kolar Open—concluded earlier in August.
