The R&A Launches Women in Golf Leadership Foundation Programme in India

11 August, 2026

The R&A has launched its Women in Golf Leadership Foundation Programme in India for the first time. Supported by the DP World India Championship Legacy Fund, the initiative aims to develop future female leaders within the nation's golf sector.

Ten women working across the Indian golf industry were selected for the inaugural cohort. The program is designed to strengthen leadership skills, build confidence, and expand professional networks.

First Workshop Conducted in Delhi

Participants recently attended the program’s first workshop in Delhi, which was facilitated by The R&A and led by a leadership development specialist. The inaugural cohort includes professionals from a wide range of roles across the industry.

Jackie Davidson, Director of Golf Education at The R&A, said the programme reflects the organisation’s commitment to investing in women who are helping shape the future of golf.

Program Timeline and Funding

The initiative will continue over the coming months and conclude during the DP World India Championship in October.

The launch was made possible through the DP World India Championship Legacy Fund. The fund provides backing for projects focused on increasing participation, developing talent, and creating long-term opportunities within the sport.

Part of a Global Initiative

First introduced in 2019, the Women in Golf Leadership Foundation Programme is part of The R&A's broader global commitment to foster inclusion by supporting women as they progress into leadership roles in golf.
