
Karma Lakelands Golf Resort, an upscale golfing resort in Gurgaon, near Delhi, has announced the launch of a golf academy that features golf experts, and cutting-edge technology and caters to the needs of golfers at all levels.
The academy has been set up in partnership with Anitya Chand, a certified golf coach and boasts of gadgets like 3D simulators and sensors for indoor practices.
At the launch event held recently, Ashwani Khurana, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Karma Lakelands said that the academy has been set up to cater to the needs of practically all golfing enthusiasts, from beginners to seasoned players, adding that the academy comes with a 9-hole golf course with an 18-hole experience.
Khurana emphasised that the academy features cutting-edge technology, including 3D simulators that measure ball trajectory, impact point on the club, posture analysis, distance and overall impact. This system allows the golfer to have an in-depth understanding of each shot.
He added that Karma Lakelands targets environmentally responsible individuals with a significant portion of the guests being Korean and Japanese golfers, adding that the number of Indian golfers has risen sharply over the past five years. “Among Indian guests, there has been an increase from 5 pc to 55 pc in the last five years, aligning with the growing trend of golf tourism in India,” says Khurana.

The academy is suitable for golfers of all profiles, say the company officials. “At Karma Lakelands, we offer a state-of-the-art golf range designed to help golfers to all levels perfect their skills. Previously, our coach focused on the basics: stance, ball lift, speed control, and techniques for maximum distance. Now, we have integrated cutting-edge technology to provide precise data with every swing,” says Akash Roy Saigal, General Manager, Karma Lakelands.
Julian Haworth, a PGA Professional and Level 3 Coach with over 30 years of experience, has been appointed as the Director of Golf. Haworth specialises in creating high-quality golfing environments. “I am deeply invested in the future of the game and the academy’s future is bright. We are particularly focussed on developing our junior programme, nurturing young, aspiring golfers and helping them reach their full potential,” says Haworth.
The coaching team includes Anup Singh, a two-time Guinness World Record holder, who has been named Head Golf Course at Karma Lakelands. According to Khurana, Karma Lakelands Golf Academy promotes eco-conscious golfing practices. With a zero run-off water harvesting system, greywater treatment and wastewater recycling system, the golf course is designed to minimise environmental impacts, he says.
