Al Mouj Golf Appoints Jaco Grove as Food & Beverage Manager

Al Mouj Golf has appointed Jaco Grove as its new Food & Beverage (F&B) Manager. Grove, originally from Cape Town, South Africa, brings over 16 years of hospitality industry experience to the role, with a strong background in venue pre-openings and clubhouse operations.

In his new position, Grove is responsible for managing F&B operations, maintaining service standards, designing menus, and overseeing culinary offerings for members, guests, and visitors.

Career History and Industry Background

Prior to joining Al Mouj Golf, Grove held several management positions across prominent golf and entertainment venues in the region:

  • Al Hamra Golf Club (Ras Al Khaimah): Served as Food & Beverage Manager.
  • Topgolf Dubai: Managed hospitality operations and assisted with the venue's pre-opening.
  • Emirates Golf Club: Served as pre-opening Restaurant Manager for the new clubhouse.

Perspective on the Role and Venue

Speaking on his experience in the hospitality sector and his transition to Al Mouj Golf, Grove shared insights on his role and the venue:

  • On working in hospitality: "It is tough to choose just one, but working with and get to know the guests is a massive pro of working in hospitality."

Outside of his professional work, Grove is an ocean sports enthusiast, engaging in activities such as surfing and fishing. Over the course of his athletic pursuits, he has sustained several injuries, all on the right side of his body:

  • AC joint shoulder injury
  • Four fractured ribs
  • Fractured wrist
  • Torn knee ACL and operated meniscus
  • Ankle ligament tears (twice)
  • Broken nose (three times)
