LIVGolf Secures Major Broadcast Deal with Sony Pictures Networks India for 2026 Season

1 May, 2026

LIV Golf has signed a significant broadcast partnership with Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI), granting live television and streaming access to its entire 2026 season across India and key South Asian markets.

The agreement will see Sony Sports Network channels and the Sony LIV OTT platform deliver comprehensive live coverage of all LIV Golf events in 2026. The deal covers India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, Afghanistan, and the Maldives. This partnership builds on SPNI’s existing rights to The International Series, a set of events co-sanctioned by LIV Golf and the Asian Tour that serve as a key development pathway for players aiming to qualify for LIV Golf and major championships.

The 2026 LIV Golf season consists of 14 events spanning 10 countries and five continents. Asian stops include tournaments in Hong Kong, Singapore, and South Korea, underscoring the league’s strategic push to grow its footprint in the region. The season runs from March through to the team championship in Michigan in August. LIV Golf is known for its distinctive format, featuring a shotgun start where all players begin simultaneously across different holes. This creates a faster-paced competition that combines both individual and team elements, typically fitting into a more compact four-to-five-hour broadcast window compared to traditional golf tournaments.

Audiences in the region will now have regular access to some of the world’s top golfers, including Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, Dustin Johnson, and Sergio García, alongside emerging talents such as David Puig and Tom McKibbin.

Rajesh Kaul, Chief Revenue Officer and Business Head of Sports and International at Sony Pictures Networks India, highlighted the appeal of the league’s format: “LIV Golf’s competition format, contested over 72 holes on many of the world’s most iconic courses, is defined by its signature shotgun start. The league’s innovative broadcast approach delivers a dynamic, action-packed viewing experience with significantly more live golf than traditional broadcasts, all within a concise four-to-five-hour window.”

He added that the addition of LIV Golf further strengthens Sony’s premium live sports portfolio in the region. Örjan Olsson, SVP of International Media Rights at LIV Golf, expressed satisfaction with the partnership: “We are thrilled to partner with Sony Pictures Networks India, one of India’s largest and most trusted sports broadcasters. This deal provides both linear television and premium OTT distribution, significantly enhancing our reach and brand visibility in this important market.”

Indian golfer Anirban Lahiri, who plays for Crushers GC, welcomed the development: “This is a big moment for golf in India. Having a broadcaster of Sony’s scale bring LIV Golf into homes across the region will give fans a real connection to the league. The energy, team aspect, and faster pace of play are elements I believe Indian sports fans will enjoy. It also increases visibility for young players in India, showing them what’s possible at the highest level.”

The partnership marks a notable step in expanding LIV Golf’s global audience, particularly in one of the world’s largest and fastest-growing sports markets.
